All books are carefully inspected for wear, damage, annotations and are then rated as follows:
New books:
Brand-new, unused, unread and in perfect condition.
Used books - Like New:
Book may have been read once but is in near-mint condition. Paper dust covers may show very minor signs shelf wear. Spine and cover will have no signs of creasing. Pages will be clean with no inscription, annotations or folds of any kind.
Used books - Very Good:
Spine and cover (particularly down the left side of paperbacks) may have very faint crease lines. Pages will be clean and may have previous owner's name on flyleaf but no other inscription or annotations. Hardback - dust cover may show signs of shelf wear but the book itself will be free of crease, corner bumps, etc.
Used books - Good:
All pages are intact and the cover is intact. The spine and cover will show signs of wear. May contain inscription or occasional, unobtrusive annotation. Hardcover - dust cover may be scuffed, worn, torn or missing.
Used books - Acceptable:
A readable copy. All pages and the cover are intact. Cover and spine will have creases and possibly curled corners. There may be inscription and annotations throughout but these will not obscure the text.
